FAQs

Q?

Do I need to see a dental specialist?

A.

We practice by the “Golden Rule”. We treat each person as we would ourselves. If the expertise of a specialist is deemed best for an issue, then we will make a referral to the best one for your needs! We only work with the best!

Q?

Do you offer dental payment plans?

A.

Yes! We never want finances to keep our patients from being healthy. We partner with CareCredit.

Q?

Why should I use a mouthguard?

A.

Clenching and grinding your teeth can ruin an otherwise healthy mouth. The proper appliance can add years to the life of your teeth if you have these issues.

Q?

What causes morning breath?

A.

“Morning breath” mouth odor can be from bacteria associated with bleeding gums. Daily flossing and checking for periodontal disease can help. Acid Reflux or GERD and tonsil issues are also a common cause.

Q?

How can I find a dental specialist in my area?

A.

We have close relationships with the best dental specialists in the area and will be happy to refer you as needed.

Q?

Are dental x-rays while pregnant safe?

A.

Routine check-up radiographs are postponed to minimize radiation exposure while pregnant. For infections and emergency situations, the benefits outweigh the risks, but each case is evaluated as needed. We encourage getting your teeth fixed and healthy beforehand if pregnancy is planned.

Q?

Are you accepting new patients?

A.

We always look forward to meeting new patients! It is one of the best parts of our day!

Q?

What are the common signs of periodontal disease?

A.

Periodontal disease is often unfelt by a person. It usually progresses over many years before symptoms appear. Our office routinely checks for periodontal disease at each visit. Bleeding when brushing or flossing is an indicator that the disease could be present at its first stages.

Q?

Why should I floss? Isn’t brushing enough?

A.

Floss removes food and bacteria where the toothbrush cannot reach between the teeth and below the gumline. Brushing alone only cleans about ½ of your tooth surface.

Q?

Do I need to arrive early for my first appointment?

A.

If you have completed your new patient paperwork online, there is no need to arrive early for your first appointment. We will be happy to see you right away!
