I was recommended to Hoffman Dental by a co-worker. I called on a Monday and was seen on Thursday morning by Dr. Tom. Upon arrival at the front desk, I was kindly greeted and even offered a bottle of water. Dr. Tom took the time to get to know me and genuinely listened and addressed the questions I had. He was also very realistic. He did not try to push anything as far as treatments and recommended an affordable yet effective and gentle toothbrush. I just got my braces off and intend on getting some bonding on two teeth to fill in some small gaps. Dr. Tom recommended that I wait 6 months on that to allow my teeth to settle before proceeding with that, which I appreciated because he could have immediately agreed to that procedure. Overall, I mostly appreciate that I was seen as a person and not just a patient.

I had an urgent dental issue I needed addressed asap. I’m in Columbus for school so my usual dentist is in a different city and I wasn’t able to leave and go there. I called and let them know my situation and they got me in the next day. Everyone I spoke to was very kind, especially Karen! I felt very comfortable and cared for.

I went to Hoffman dental for the first time today for teeth whitening and it was amazing! Dawn made the process so easy and comfortable- I felt like I was at a spa appointment- she checked on me to make sure I was comfortable and even gave me a blanket to stay warm. My teeth turned out amazing and the best part was all the work she did to help remedy any sensitivity. Dr Hoffman was also very friendly and attentive- so happy with the whole experience!

Nothing can stop me giving a 6 except that I could only give 5. Feel very lucky to chose here. I am not a guy who will be extremely nervous and stressed when stepping into a hospital, nevertheless, I can tell that Dr.David and Dr.Hoffman know how to make you being a patient as most comfortable as possible. They treat patients respectfully, responsibly and professionally, while being very easygoing too. In terms of service, as a patient, the only things I felt were all their confidence and expertise, and none of pains. All honest words and a 6 out of 5.

I have been going here since I was a kid (so for about 30 years now) and, despite living in many other cities around the US and in other countries around the world, I’ve always come back to Upper Arlington to this dental practice to get my teeth cleaned - and now I bring my kids! Shout out to Cortney for always being so kind.

Great experience each and every time I come in for cleaning and a Check up. From checking in to checking out every one is polite, helpful and professional. My hygienist, Cortney, is attentive and thorough and pleasant to be in her care. Dr. Tom is a highly capable dentist with a great chair-side manner.

Great office! Staff is friendly - Toni is normally the hygienist that I see. I really appreciate how she takes note of things we talk about so when I go in for my routing cleanings, she asks about previous things we have talked about! I’ve only seen Dr. Cheryl and she is great as well. Highly recommend this office.

Dr. Tom Hoffman and David (dental tech) were absolutely fantastic! This was my first visit to Hoffman Dental (and first dentist office visit in 6-7 years). There was a great personal connection with both gentlemen which made the experience that much more enjoyable. I can’t recommend Dr. Tom enough!!

Dr. Hoffman was very kind and warm at my appointment yesterday. I have some fear of the dentist (as a lot of us do) and have put off my appointments far too long and finally decided to go. There was no judgement and they were extremely kind. As a Sterile Processing Educator for OhioHealth, I was also extremely impressed with their reprocessing of instrumentation!

I had a crown pop off on Friday and Dr Cheryl Hoffman got me an appointment on Monday to re-cement the crown from another dental office in California. The staff was very welcoming and the service was outstanding! I have already scheduled a cleaning and will be making this practice my family’s dental practice.

Second update from late February, 2023: Hoffman Dental continues to be a great dentist's office. I have gum issues, and they've kept my teeth and gums healthy with great treatment and helpful advice. Both my dentist, Dr. Thomas Hoffman, and hygienist, Cortney, not only do very good jobs but both are very friendly and regular people. The same goes for all the front desk people. Anyways, I highly recommend Hoffman Dental. Update from 6/2/2020: I've continued to be very happy with the good care I've received from Hoffman Dental. All the workers are very professional, good at their jobs and nice. I was worried about going to the dentist during the coronavirus pandemic, but I went and can say that everything possible was done to protect the customer and the workers. I had to fill out a questionnaire assessing my risk. When I got there, I called them from my car and they let me know when to come in. I went in with a mask, but they had masks if needed. First, they had me use hand sanitizer, scanned with a temperature scanner and then went in. The hygienist explained everything, wore an N95 mask, a surgical mask over that and then a face shield. They wear coats and long-length lab coats that they change after every patient. The chair and walls are wiped down after every patient. The workers change out of their home clothes before working and take off their work clothes before leaving. Everything is laundered on-site. They don't use the water jet to rinse out the mouth. And, they're putting in a new air cleaning system. Overall, I was very impressed! From what I can see from my 10-15 years experience with Hoffman Dental, I've had good care and have been treated by very nice and knowledgeable people. Both Dr. Hoffman (I see Tom Hoffman) and the hygienists are very good, professional and friendly, too. Plus, they can fit you in if you have emergencies. I recommend them.

Heather is the quintessential dental hygienist, she is thorough and meticulous and always restores my smile back! The entire office is maintaining a safe environment and I feel confident in the precautionary measures they uphold for virus prevention. And you could not ask for a friendlier, more helpful staff than what they provide, and they will alleviate any hesitancy one may have about visiting their dentist, you will leave much happier and healthier!

Dr Tom is fabulous. Michelle was my hygienist and she did a great job and was so nice. My husband was given tender loving care by the staff and had his teeth cleaned and x-rayed as I did. I have been a customer of Dr Tom and Dr Cheryl for over 35 years. First class operation with newest technology.

The staff at Hoffman Dental are always so helpful and pleasant. Toni, my hygienist as well as my sons, did an excellent job with the both of us. All of the staff there have made our families experience one where we look forward to dentist appointments when sometimes it can be a nerve wracking experience for most. We highly recommend Hoffman Dental to anyone looking for a dentist in the area.

I have been a patient here for over 20 years, coming as a child and now an adult. Doctors Tom and Cheryl are great. I almost left the practice because of one hygienist a few years ago (she’s no longer with their practice), but thankfully I switched to Cortney who is fantastic and one of the main reasons I stayed.

Been a happy Hoffman patient for at least 15 years after leaving the OSU faculty practice unhappy. Got lucky with this practice. Drs. Tom and Sheryl are excellent dentists and wonderful people. Of course I don't know the whole staff, but those I do know and especially the hygienist I see (Cortney) are just great.

The staff was very accommodating to fit me in on short notice, prior to me leaving for Florida for the Winter. Turns out I had a cavity which they were able to fix ,saving me an early return trip to Ohio. The staff is friendly and very competent. I have been a patient for over 40 years! You hear about folks having bad experiences at the dentist, but that has never been the case for me at Hoffman Dental. Dr. Tom, Toni and all of the hygienists/staff have always been friendly, professional and done well to take care of all of my needs. I look forward to coming back again in 6 months for my next check in!

Our family has been regular patients at Hoffman Dental for many years, and we love the family-friendly atmosphere and professionalism. I am grateful for both of the Doctor Hoffmans, their assistants, and faculty because they continuously improve for my dental hygiene and care for my health. I have developed a strong friendship with the office, especially with my bi-weekly Invisalign dental appointments. As a new patient, my expectation was to go in and get xrays and have my teeth cleaned, but Dr. Cheryl provided so much more. She welcomed me into her office to have a proper meet and greet. Next, I was given a tour of the entire office. When I got to the exam room, I had pictures taken of my teeth, xrays and then Dr. Cheryl thoroughly cleaned my teeth herself. It was a fantastic visit. I need some additional work done and she provided a thorough explanation of what was going on by showing me and explaining each picture she took and then provided options for next steps. Overall my first visit was great! Highly recommend.

I’ve been a patient for many years and have never had any reason to complain. The front room staff are friendly and welcoming, ready to answer any question. Courtney takes care of my teeth and does a wonderful job. Dr Tom has the final word and explains everything carefully. I highly recommend their service.

I cannot speak highly enough of how wonderful the entire team is at Hoffman Dental! I have very (VERY) sensitive teeth, so even a cleaning can be a dreaded experience. But Courtney is just fantastic - she takes extra care to handle me gently, yet does a great job. And Dr. Cheryl and Dr. Tom care for every one of their patients like they are family.

We have been patients of Dr. Tom and Dr. Cheryl for decades. They have always provided excellent care. We like that they are continually educating themselves on the latest technology and procedures in dentistry. Yet they don't rush into procedures. Their office staff and dental hygienists are top-notch.

I don't usually write reviews on businesses, but wow!! Hoffman Dental is an incredible business! I recently started coming here after a change in insurance, and I was hesitant to try a new dentist. I was blown away by how friendly and personable every employee is at this facility. They took the time to introduce themselves to me, answer any and all questions, and both dentists sat down with me personally during my treatments. I spent almost two hours there yesterday getting work done and I was comfortable and relaxed the whole time. The team works seamlessly to do the work and talk to you and make you feel comfortable through the whole process. I truly enjoy everyone who works here and I give major credit to the physicians who built such a fantastic business. I will be going to Hoffman Dental for a long time to come!

The full staff always put me at ease. I suffer from severe fear of all that goes with dental maintenance. After 30 years my family dentist passed and I was lucky to find Hoffman Dental. The full staff make certain I am comfortable and extend extraordinary care helping me to begin anew with confidence.

I will always come back to Hoffman no matter what. Everyone is SO nice, and I mean everyone and it feels genuine. They take such good care of you and are attentive and really listen to what you are saying. My hygienist made it a point to remember random details about my life. They are thorough and approach concerns with kindness and care. I’m usually not one to leave reviews on anything, but I honestly was just so shocked and surprised by their level of care that I would refer everyone I know there.

Like many people, I did not like going to the dentist. Dr Tom, Dr Cheryl and the whole team are incredible. Kim ALWAYS is wonderful. Everybody there is friendly, kind and very gentle. We drive 3 hours to come to see them. The care they provide is unlike any place I have been. We are so glad to have found them and will not see another dentist. Thank you for making going to the dentist such a great experience.

I have gone to Hoffman Dental for around 30 years. They are the BEST, it doesn't matter which doctor you see. Their staff are always excellent also. I recently had to change insurance, and they did not cover Hoffman Dental. So I bought my own dental insurance, because I refuse to go anywhere else. I have had several different procedures done throughout the years, and they have all been trouble-free and lasting. In addition, when they have needed to send me to an endodontist, I can also guarantee anyone that he is the best too.

It is so unusual to say a dentist visit was 5 star but this experience tops my list. Let’s start with PEOPLE answering the phone when you call and they really seem to care about helping you! Dr. Cheryl was caring, friendly, professional, thorough and developed a plan for moving forward that I understand. The facility is very clean and and current furnishings make a comfortable experience. Thank you for a great start with my new dentist!

I’ve been a loyal Hoffman Dental customer for the past 4-5 years, primarily due to the confidence, personal and professional, and efficient and effective resolve from each member of this dental practice. Hoffman Dental has since transformed my longstanding adolescent smile into a healthy and wonderful adult smile that greatly improved my peace of mind and confidence in myself. This dental practice exceeds my expectations by employing and promoting a down-to-earth, friendly, and exciting culture of wonderful people- and performance-oriented and driven professionals. I love them all for their caring and professional approach and skill set, and I can’t ever see myself wanting anyone else to care for my overall dental or oral well-being.

Excellent experience through and through, as always. I've been a patient of Dr. Hoffman's for 20+ years, along with all of my immediate family members and many other friends and acquaintances I've recommended to them over the years. Heather (hygienist) is super professional and always does a great job. I'm not sure dental care gets any better than this.

Dr. Hoffman and his staff are really friendly and they provide good dental services. Taking off two stars as they are not transparent with their insurance coverage. Last year we were in-network and cleanings, etc were covered at 100%. We have the same Aetna insurance this year, but apparently are no longer in-network. I understand things change with insurance companies and that it can be out of their control but they should have notified us PRIOR to our cleanings that they were no longer taking Aetna. I still would have had the cleanings done but would not have updated x-rays. Instead we found this out when they sent us a bill for over $650 after two cleanings/x-rays. Extremely disappointing and frustrated.

My son and I recently switched to this dental practice after being long-time patients at another practice. We are both more than thrilled with Hoffman Dental. I see Dr. Cheryl and my son was seen by Dr. Tom. They and their entire staff are very warm, caring, professional, and make a somewhat anxious patient (me) feel calm about a dental visit. We both highly recommend!

I have been a patient Drs. Thomas and Cheryl Hoffman for more years than I want to admit, (almost 30). They have been tremendous in their care of my teeth all of these years. I would and have recommended them numerous times because of there expertise.. So sorry, but 5 stars just won't make it. In my book they are both a 10.

I have been going to see Dr. Cheryl for over 20 years now! She absolutely saved my smile . . . i came from a dentist that said that i would not have any teeth by the time i was 40 years old - here i am at 61 and loving my smile! Both she and Dr. Tom are very gentle and so is their hygienist. Love them and love their team 🙂

It is a pleasure coming to the office. The front office is so friendly and helpful. The office itself is convenient to my home. My dental hygienist was efficient, friendly and knowledgeable and was able to answer all my questions. Dr. Tom teaches and explains things so well and does expert care on my teeth.

Monday was my first visit as a new patient. I have to say it was the best experience I’ve had at the dentist in 36 years! As soon as I arrived I was introduced to the staff. They welcomed me as a friend. They gave me a tour of the office as well. I met Dr Hoffman and loved her the minute I met her. She cleaned my teeth for the first visit. She was very thorough, gentle and explained everything she did. Thank you for over exceeding my expectations!!

Gong to the dentist is not usually very pleasant but everyone at Hoffman dental is so friendly and kind, it is a nice experience. I'm sorry I didn't hear the name of the hygienist that cleaned my teeth, but she is a very personable, friendly and a thorough professional. As always, Dr. Tom Hoffman is very kind and welcoming.

I have been going to Hoffman Dental since they first started their practice. I was afraid of dental procedures but both Dr. Tom and Dr. Cheryl got me over that. My dental tech, Courtney, is very good and gentle. a very pleasant person. I moved out of Columbus 28 years ago and retired 10 years ago and drive 35 miles to go to Hoffman Dental because I trust them.

Everything about this place is different than any dentist I've ever been to. I was really taken aback on my first appointment because so much time was devoted to getting to know each other. I needed a lot of dental work and put it off for many years but I was comfortable getting the work done here because of the time spent getting to know each other. Most of my work was done by Dr. Cheryl, but I've also seen Dr. Tom. They are both so great! Dr. Cheryl is warm and engaging and Dr. Tom has a sort of fatherly bedside manner that really put me at ease. I also have to shout-out Leslie and Jen. They make my appointments feel like a visit with friends. I can't say enough about this place...it's pretty special. I highly recommend Hoffman Dental.

Becoming a patient at Hoffman Dental has been life changing! I have a long, complicated dental history and have been through a lot; however, Dr. Cheryl and her team have welcomed me with open arms and always provide me with the best care. During my first appointment, Dr. Cheryl sat down with me in a conference room and actually took the time to get to know me as a person before we even walked to the treatment area. No hurrying, no asking of pertinent questions while poking around in your mouth; she treated you like an individual first and patient second. They're thorough, kind, considerate, and help you figure out what to do next with your dental health. With the Covid-19 concerns they have been practicing with the absolute best precautions while still making you feel welcome! I came to Hoffman Dental with a mouthful of crooked teeth; which was not a pleasant sight. I was not familiar with the word Invisalign; but WOW, what that word turned into for me. With the professional concern from the staff at Hoffman Dental, and in particular the dedication of Dr. Cheryl; I now have the straightest teeth I never thought possible. And what can I say about Heather is a top hygienist she is one of the best at what she does. That entire office is just tremendous. I had my first visit today as a new patient and all I can say is WOW! It's everything you'd want and more from a dentist visit, greeted with smiles from everyone, had a little tour & explanation of everything they do along a personal sit down visit with Dr Cheryl and Leslie before we started. They made me feel so comfortable knowing that I was nervous. They both explained in detail every step of what they were doing. I am SO SO thrilled to have found my new dental office. I've worked in healthcare for a decade, so I recognize great customer service when I see it in this setting. This office is the real deal--it's a joy to interact with everyone there, not just the Doctors Hoffman. I don't think they've ever missed a beat--I've always gotten an enthusiastic greeting by name every time I walk in. These folks are consistently awesome.

So thankful for Hoffman Dental!!!! Just had my cleaning with Sarah, the dental hygienist, and she was amazing!!! So thorough, gentle and kind. Dr. Tom and Dr. Sheryl are wonderful!!! You can always depend on them wanting what is best for your overall health and well being. I have had many dentists in the past and by far Hoffman Dental wins "first prize"!!!!! My family and I have received excellent care from Dr. Cheryl and Dr. Tom. Their staff is excellent as well. Becky and Jenny are always so friendly, welcoming, and helpful at the front desk. Dr. Cheryl and Leslie provided a very positive experience throughout my Invisalign treatment. I was blown away by the kindness and attention to detail of this office during my first visit today. Here is a quick list of highlights: 1. Offered a beverage and toothbrush when you walked in the door. 2.Care conference to discuss what I wanted out of a dental group. 3. The dentist, Dr. Tom, performed first cleaning to establish a relationship. 4. All of the office staff introduced themselves to me. 5. I didn't feel any pressure to do anything, and I learned a lot of my mouth today that others didn't take the time to explain. 6. Take home bag full of full size toothpaste, and electric toothbrush replacement head, along with other goodies. I thought this was extremely thoughtful, and one step past what most give you. 7. Get a replacement head for electric toothbrushes every 6 months with cleanings. 8. Can bring in retainers for a cleaning while getting your teeth cleaned. 9. Staff was extremely friendly, and many wished me a Happy Birthday which I didn't expect them to notice. 10. Very clean, friendly, and organized. Thank you for making me feel as though my opinion and wishes matter. Glad to have you as my dental care team.

I visited Hoffman Dental for the first time today and I could not be more impressed! From the moment I walked into the door I felt extremely welcomed. I was shown a tour of the office and offered a beverage! Sherri and Dr. Tom were personable and very present during my appointment. They made sure that I understood everything that was being discussed and that I was very comfortable. I would recommend this office to anyone and everyone!

I am a life-long dental-phone thanks to traumatic childhood dental care. As an adult I have struggled to find a dental provider who could help me survive regular dental health care. Thanks to Debbie Phillips, I visited the Hoffman practice and have religiously received regular dental health services. My current dental technician is Heather. She has worked with me to find ways to minimize my anxiety and provides caring supportive care. My care is overseen by Dr. Tom Hoffman who is direct and professional which also allays my anxiety. The entire practice operates as a quintessentially professional team, recognizing each of their patients as individuals but treating each of us with personal attention.

We had to find a new dentist and were lucky enough to find Dr. Hoffman! My 16 year old son and I both had our first appointments today and every single staff member was wonderful! A special thanks to Sherri for taking such good care of me today! Of note: When your 16 year old son walks out with you and says - "we need to come back here - I like this dentist", that's a good sign you've found the right place. 🙂

First experience here was a great one and the staff was very welcoming. They took the time to simply offer a handshake, something not always seen anymore. Took the time to get to know me and the initial sit down was nice to meet Dr Hoffman and his staff. Sherri was particularly helpful and friendly during my visit

Heather was a terrific dental hygienist....very thorough and offered a lot of tips on how to keep that "perfect smile". The entire staff, as well as Dr. Cheryl, always makes me feel welcome. The fact that they laugh at my jokes always sends me off with a "smile" on my face......mission accomplished!

Everyone is so helpful and friendly which makes “going to the dentist much better “ Cortney was cleaning my teeth with a threader that was doing a better job than mine. I asked and she told where I could get them and gave me a few to try. I will be able to do a better job on my teeth. Thanks Cortney.

My wife and I had been patients of Dr. Thomas and Dr. Cheryl Hoffman for years and they did a great job. My wife passed away and I lost my dental insurance, so I didn't go for several years. Then a filling came out of out of a wisdom tooth and the tooth broke so that there wasn't much left. I really didn't think there was much hope for it but I called for an appointment and even though I hadn't been there in years, the staff was very friendly and kind and gave me an appointment for the next day. Dr. Hoffman was very kind and not at all judgemental about my not having had any dental care for years. He was able to repair my tooth even though it was in a very difficult location for him to work on and was in very bad shape. He spent a long time working to repair it and I am very grateful to him for that. I also thought the bill was very reasonable for all of the effort he put into the repair. All of the staff there are very friendly and outgoing so that a trip there is very pleasant.

I am new to Columbus and needed to find a new dentist in the area and I am so happy I found Dr. Hoffman's office! His staff is so friendly and they make you feel welcome and comfortable the second you get there. Dr. Hoffman took the time to have an actual conversation with me before we even went back into the exam room and he even did my teeth cleaning, plus he dips the tools into something that is mint flavored which is amazing! He is so passionate about what he does and it truly does show. The best experience I've ever had at the dentist by far.

The purpose of my recent appointment was for the replacement of an old filling. I was anxious because I anticipated that because the filling was somewhat large, the procedure would be time-consuming and arduous. Dr. Tom and the Hygienist (sorry to say, I have forgotten her name) eased my anxiety as they exchanged lighthearted banter. I found that I was soon laughing aloud (no nitrous oxide,) and was impressed and delighted that the procedure was completed quickly and comfortably. The skill of this team of professionals is undeniable. My grandson, who will be three years old in July, 2019, will be the third generation of my family who has trusted and relied upon the Drs. After over 20 years of dental care for my family I get personable service. Dr. Tom knows me real well and has restored my teeth to a healthy and beautiful smile. All four of our children go here also since age 3, they have never felt scared at the dentist. We never have trouble making appointments and the waiting room rarely has anyone waiting more that 5-10 minutes. Highly recommend!

Excellent. I have been to several dentists in Columbus and wasn’t happy with any of them. Thankfully I tried Hoffman Dental and I’ll be staying. The staff is friendlier than friendly, responsive, and competent. I’ve had different hygienists and each has been good. I’ve only seen Dr. Tom Hoffman who is kind, patient, and does a great job— I trust his judgement. Somehow, I always feel like their only patient when I’m there. Cannot recommend more highly!
